Guest guest
Hi Terry Are u able to give us an idea about which chinese herbs are safe for HyperT. I am wary of taking anything! Please advise ============================= on liz.jameson@... Chinese Herbs---Terry > I am certain that Chinese herbal meds and acupuncture could relieve many > symptoms of hypo, as well as hyper. But whether they can cure the disease > w/o taking anything else, I can't say. Hi Terry, When I first consulted a TCM doctor just after being diagnosed with GD she told me to take the ATDs to start with because that was going to be the fastest way to get the thyroid under control and to alleviate the worst symptoms. But she was adamant that long term use of herbs was the way to get the body and ultimately the immune system back into balance. I tooka combination of powdered herbs (as well as Mercazole) for about nine months and became euthyroid during that time. I went off the herbs in September and by the end of last year went back to a mildly hyper state where I am today. With the benefit of hindsight I probably should have stayed on them longer. It sounds as though you are going through a rough period. You are one of those in the group who always seem to find time to reach out to the newbies no matter how busy you are. I hope you get through these next few weeks without any further deterioration in the way you feel.
Guest guest
, You can't dose yourself with Chinese herbs. My formula, for instance, has about 20 different ones in it. They balance one another and deal with different aspects of one's total physical condition. You need a practitioner of TCM who has studied and passed the test for herbal medicine (there is a National test and also some states, like California, administer their own versions). Study and testing is quite stringent, my husband has a 4-year masters' degree in TCM. Every formula is made up specifically for the person. So the herbs I take might be completely different than those you'd need. Guest guest
Hi Terry My acupuncturist is also a trained chinese medicine person as well as conventional doctor, but she prefers to practice in Chinese medicine. I am very cautious of what I am taking and questioning everybody as I dont want to accidentally trip up my thyroid. The only thing I can do it ask her what sort of brew she recommends and look up all the ingredients for contradictions. Liz ============================= on liz.jameson@...
