Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have not gone for new labs yet, am scheduled for an appt. with my endo in Sept. The endo is over 30 miles from me so it's a haul to go there. Lately I have been having trouble sleeping, which is very unlike me. Normally once my head hits the pillow I am down for the count until morning. Lately I am waking up at 3:30 or 4:00 AM and then having trouble going back to sleep. It's been getting worse and worse lately to where it's happening 4 or 5 times a week. Along with the sleep problems I now have a cold. I haven't had a cold that has lasted more than one or two days in a while. Maybe I'm heading a little hypo instead of being hyper? Guess I'll have to wait until next month to know for sure. My next appt. is Sept. 16 and I'll go for labs a few days before. Good news is though that my goiter has shrunk even more. Yippee! in MA USA Graves since March 1997 Currently on 2 PTU tablets per day Was in remission from 2000-2003 Will not undergo RAI
Guest guest
Why not have labs done locally (your GP or a lab)? Guest guest
I haven't had new labs done basically because of insurance. The lab or doctor has to be within a certain medical group for it to be covered. Both my GP and my endo are 30+ miles from where I live and work. I moved not too long ago and don't want to change doctors. But neither of them have any lab affiliations near me so I can't get labs done near me. It's kind of a pain but when you have doctors you really, really like and have a good relationship with it's too hard to change! I could go and get labs done but I would be really late for work and currently don't have any sick or vacation time available to me. I used all my vacation time for, well, vacation and my sick time was used up with doctor's appointments and trips for labs. in MA USA Graves since March 1997 Currently on 2 PTU tablets per day Was in remission from 2000-2003 Will not undergo RAI Re: FW: Sick and sleep trouble Why not have labs done locally (your GP or a lab)? Guest guest
, Would it be worth it for you to go to a local lab and just get a FT4 done, at your own expense, if your doctor can't authorize it? I mean, if you really suspect something is amiss. Just an idea. At 03:42 PM 8/27/2003, you wrote: >I haven't had new labs done basically because of insurance.
