Guest guest
Rose - Sandy's right, the Graves' Disease book has excellent descriptions and pictures of TED. I'll try to summarize some of them, but seeing the pictures would make it make more sense. Some symptoms: bulging eyes is the biggest indicator of TED - your eyes may look like they're " popping out " . Inability to fully close eyelids, retraction of the upper eyelids, itchy eyes, blurred vision, swelling aroung the eye (periorbital edema), conjunctival swelling, dry eyes, light sensitivity, double vision, eye pain, lid lag (when looking down, the upper eyelid normally covers the upper portion of the eye slightly, lid lag means it doesn't do this like it normally does - hard to explain), staring, not blinking very often. There's lots of others, but that's most of the common ones. Here's also some more (some repeats) from the master list of symptoms for hypo, hyper, and TED at http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/YBdnPxPmv2yrlo5R9rRczH029hxH6ePHsIoWot3QJpVJaNM s5QQNawruzegl2X16iULNyVEz4LcDuKFhE__b8JZW1qQ/SymptomsList.txt EYE DISEASE SYPTOMS Bad night vision <malabsorption of vitamin A, causing orange tinted palms, poor night vision> Blurring of vision Bulging eyes Double vision Dry eyes Eyestrain Inability to close eyes to sleep (Eye lids don't close fully or remain fully closed through he night?) Lid lag Sensitive to light, even indoors Staring Swelling of eyes Tearing Ulceration Hope that helps!
