Hi! Very frustrating...my son Non sga or rss had TONs of ear

infections until he was about 3 and then Emerence had a gazillion

(back to back) until she had her 1st set of tubes at 9 mo....and 2nd

set just in July at 17 mo. With I got tired of other drs who

would put him on amoxy or penicillin when all that ever worked was

Augmentin. I just learned to head the dr off at the curb (if it

wasn't my kids pc) by saying I know there is a great concern about

overuse of antibiotics but I feel very strongly my son needs XYZ now

because XYZ (prior experience) etc. I found that if I hit this

subject before they got there I usually got the meds. The other

thing is to ask the primary care if she is comfortable leaving a note

in 's file. My daughter's ENT (who has been great and has gone

to great l enghts to research RSS/SGA on her own) has usually had me

skip the pc if I think EMerence has an ear infection and go directly

to her. If you get ear tubes for make sure you keep FLOXIN at

home (these drops they give after the tubes are in for antibiotics).

Emerence still has had 2 ear infectins but you will know because it

drains and it is disgusting. Then I just use floxin and don't have

to go anywhere to see a dr!

Anyway, sorry to ramble. GOOD LUCK!

, 4.5, Emerence almost 20 mo 18 lb 11 oz 28.5 " , SGA,
