Newbie here/ depressed and lost

Hi All,

I am from Eastern Canada, I was diagnosed Oct 2001 with

Hyperthyroid, I was sent to a specialist in Nov and 2 weeks later was

given RAI . I was told it was the only thing that would work for sure,

I was so unfocused at the time that I just followed the doctors, and

did what I was told , Oh how I wish I had been able to pull myself

together enough to do research. The symptoms stopped most of them

anyway. When I went to see him I was told I had GD ,I asked what that

was but was told oh it's an Autoimmine diasease, that affected my

immune system but alot of times after RIA people were not bothered.

There was not a deal made of this so I didn't really worry about it.

Excuse my spelling it is hard enough just to stay focused. My eyes

that had been bulging went through alot of pain but did go back to

normal. They put me on 125mg syntroid I remained there from Jan 2002

to March 2003. I thought things seemed to be pretty good I needed to

nap but have always been somewhat like that anyway. It came time for

blood work and It came back under he said my meds were not strong

enough. So I ended up at 168mg for 1 and 1/2 months , I was over so

they lowered it to 138mg and he said it was ok there , felt a little

run down and not myself but figured I would keep going , he sent me

back to my family dr. I told him I feel out of sorts and run

down,edgy, a little depressed and he upped the meds to 150mg at 150 my

body felt better but my eyes started acting up after 21/2 months on

150mg my eyes hurt so bad and the pain in the back like a vaccum was

trying to suck my eyes out around a hose full of knifes I tried to get

in to the dr. 8 days to wait to see dr. I felt so scared that I took

myself off 150 and didn't take nothing for 3 days and then went back

to 138mg. by the time I had seen the dr. they weren't as painful so I

explained what I had done . We had some words, anyway he sent me for

blood tests and it came back , as he decribed it border line hypo told

me to keep going on them and in another week go for tests again they

again came back hypo. But my eyes were feeling so much better then

before, he told me that meds. didn't do this. He put me back on 150mg

which I am on now and into the third week and my eyes are bothering

me. not yet to the extreme that they were but I figure it is only a

matter of time. Has anyone out there that is on syntroid ever have

this happen to them. And can some tell me any tricks they might have

that help releave the eyes. My eyes are not extreme yet just bulging a

bit but enough that I see people looking like what is wrong with her

eyes. I hate this and I don't know how to help myself, my eyes only

allow themselves to do so much reading on the computer and then they

get sore and I have to stop and that isn't enough to get the info I

need. I started taking Flax seed oil how long does that take to work.

Please anyone who can give me some suggetions , Answer me. Thank you
