bone age, need to meet an endo, other medical tests

There have been a number of threads recently about convincing the

doctor about certain medical tests etc. Are these problems in

dealing with the pediatrician? I have had no such problem so far

and was wondering why many of you are having these problems. I just

call my pediatrician and tell him " I read this on the internet, or

my friend is doing this " and ask what he thinks about it. Even if I

haven't convinced him or he knows what the answer will most likely

be negative, he gives me a referral to the specialist just for

my " peace of mind " . He only makes recommendations such as " there is

an equal expert closer to home for you " and sends me there.
