Guest guest
Alison, My son also had low muscle tone, he just turned one, and has not started growth hormone. With physical and occupational therapy weekly, he has caught up in these areas. In physical therapy he is actually a month ahead of kids his age. So, it can be done. Good luck! le mom to Datreon, RSS, 1yr, 15lb 2oz, 26in, periactin
Guest guest
Hi! My son is non RSS but had severe hypotonia, my 20 mo old Emerence, SGA mild RSS, has more moderate hypotonia but we started PT at 3 months. never had anything but PT and OT and began walking at 26 months. I would ask about getting a walker...I think once got upright it made it much easier. He had the walker 4 months before he walked. He rolled everywhere. Emerence did not walk until 17 months. > > Hi everyone > My son (Charlie 15mths RSS) had a physio assessment yesterday as he > is not walking or pulling up yet. Guest guest
Alison, Charlie's muscle tone will improve with physio. You don't have to wait until gh is started to see an improvement in this area. Email me at ade01@... if you would like to know some Early Childhood Centres near where you live. ne > > Hi everyone > My son (Charlie 15mths RSS) had a physio assessment yesterday as he > is not walking or pulling up yet. Guest guest
Hi Alison, Yes, strengthening and increased muscle tone CAN be achieved through Physical Therapy. butt-scooted for the longest time, and became VERY proficient at it! LOL He didn't walk until he was 21 months of age, and crawled even later than that. Hope this helps Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 33 months, 22.5#, 31.8 " , G-Tube)
