Check out the site at www.csaceliacs.org/pharmeceuticals.htm. Bromonate Elixir is not GFCF. Tylenol tablets, gelcaps and allergy sinus gelcaps tested positive for gluten; the only safe one is the suppositories which my son has taken. I will check on Motrin and Albuterol. Sorry to pass out this info but we must be aware of all products. My son has Celiac's Disease and gluten is a no no. He reacts to the slightest amount. Guest guest
Aren't both Tylenol Children's Suspension (grape flavor) and Children's Motrin suspension GFCF??? They are ok according to the list at the GFCF website.... > From: treelinkr@... > Reply-To: GFCFKids > Date: Mon, 18 Jun 2001 13:35:42 EDT > To: GFCFKids > Subject: Re: Re: Dimetapp DM > > - > > > Tylenol tablets, gelcaps and allergy sinus gelcaps tested positive for > gluten; the only safe one is the suppositories which my son has taken. > I will check on Motrin and Albuterol. > > Sharon > > >
Guest guest
Per the consumer relationship center at McNeil the Children Tylenol Suspension Grape Flavored Liquid doesn't fully contain detectable levels of gluten which means there are traces just minute. Some kids react to the smallest amount of gluten. Motrin is not GFCF per his information. The only Motrin that is GFCF is Motrin IB caplets and tablets. The source of starch in many of their products is corn and other corn derivitives such as sorbitol and manitol. Hope this information helps. Guest guest
Sharon, Thank you for the info - upsetting though, because I have been using the Motrin since the GFCFdiet.com website lists it as ok..... Josh was very sick last week with fever 104+ for several days and I went through most of a bottle.... ugghhh! > From: treelinkr@... > Reply-To: GFCFKids > Date: Mon, 18 Jun 2001 20:23:42 EDT > To: GFCFKids > Subject: Re: Re: Dimetapp DM > > Per the consumer relationship center at McNeil the Children Tylenol > Suspension Grape Flavored Liquid doesn't fully contain detectable levels of > gluten which means there are traces just minute. Guest guest
Sorry to have given this bad news, but in the long run our kids will benefit from the gfcf products only. I have written several letters to McNeil and J & J to ask them to please make more gfcf products. Once I hear from them I will let the group know their answer. This Saturday, McNeil in Ft.Washington, PA is having a CAN(Cure Autism Now) kickoff meeting. They want to get involved in the fundraising efforts and I will give my pitch about their products at the meeting so they understand the importance of more than one area.
