Guest guest
Three years ago I stopped smoking Congratulations! I can certainly identify with how frustrating weight fluctuation is (not to mention the expense involved in multiple wardrobes, even if you do it as cheaply as I do) but you are infinitely healthier now and I wish you success in keeping off the cigs. Guest guest
I stopped smoking three times since 1990. Each time I quit for about a year. Each time I had a Graves bout. I've decided this time I won't return to smoking because the cost is worse than its effects on health. I will let others pick up the difference in tax lost on my abstinence. But I do wonder about a possible correlation between stopping and the Graves bouts. My endocrinologist said there could be a connection -- stress. Wasn't sure whether he meant stress over quitting or stress because I no longer have a stress deviator and notice EVERYTHING everyone does <big smile>. Anyway, I thought I would throw this in to see if there are others on the list who associate quitting smoking with an onset of their Graves. Guest guest
Hi , I just bought some Tonalin last week and haven't noticed anything yet although I recently lost 10 lbs adding Metabolic Action, an herbal, ephedrine-free product by Puritan's Pride. Shomon has several studies describing Tonalin on her about.com thyroid site and the Life Extension Foundation described some studies using Tonalin along with guarana, a caffeine-like substance. You can do a search on www.lef.org for that info. If you do a search on google, you should also find several other studies. So would you say that guarana isn't recommended for hyper people, even if stable on meds, or those in remission who fear a relapse (say, very recent remission)? Guest guest
Hi Fay, We all have different senstivities to caffeine. If your thyroid labs are stable and caffeine doesn't affect you much, it would probably be ok. But if you're like me and find that too much caffeine makes you jittery, I'd skip the guarana.
