Our daughter received her diagnosis yesterday of RSS. She has been

on Genotropin Growth Hormone for a year and a half and then

Humatrope Growth Hormone for almost another year and a half. Abby

is having little response to either of these drugs. What other

growth hormones have RSS kiddos been on that we may try with Abby?

hi and welcome to the group!!! how old is your daughter, did she do

caloric catch up growth prior to starting ght? also a child on ght

needs to take in 1/2x more calories then they normally take in each

day. is she on periactin? it is an appetite stimulant that helps

alot of the kids feel hungry so they take in more calories. maybe

jen salem or jodi z. will have so more input on this. good luck!!!

As Jodie mentioned, I would make sure that Abby has completed her caloric

catch up growth. If she cannot consume enough calories to sustain increased

growth, the GH will be less effective.

Secondly, did Abby's growth velocity increase with the original onset of

treatment, and then taper off? Has her GH dosage been increased as she has

grown and gained? GH is dosed by weight, so as she grows she will need

higher and higher amounts to achieve the same increased growth velocity.

Hope this helps!
