Here is some info out of books: * " Many do have allergies, or allergy-related symptoms such as hay fever, asthma or eczema. Sometyimes they have problems with foods that are not 'classical' allergies, and which won't show up on skin tests " * Bananas are high in phenols, and for some these foods should be avoided as well. Many autistic children will crave these. *This is taken from " unraveling the mysteries......... " : " In my experienec, maniacal laughing and nighttime laughing have always been connected with a yeast problem, especially after eating sweet foods like bananas or sugar. " There are more and more on bananas, but I guess it depends on each individual child. LJ loved bananas and I never saw a reaction to them but he came out mildly allergic (class 1) to them so he only gets two a month. I love them myself on Long Island New York * ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! As far as the 1s for bananas, it was an IgE test and he also showed allergic to soy and rice witha 1, so them I only use a day 1x a month for though. Chocolate I give maybe once every 2 months. Peanuts and cashews I just dobn't give at all cause I can use almond butter instead. Pork I don't give and his other two items are milk and wheat which are eliminated anyway with this diet. I wish I had someone to keep me on a diet!!!!!!!! I need to lose weight so bad - maybe tomorrow!!!!!!!! on Long Island New York * ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
Dr. Semon puts bananas on the list of foods to be eliminated because they are known to cause migraines and cause problems for many people. I forgot the other reasons that are named. Evan is still eating bananas but he has been doing so well and yet has so far to go that I am cutting back on other foods other than gfcf foods. Corn is the hardest thing to get rid of but it also is on Dr. Semon's list of foods to get rid of. I guess I will add bananas to my list of foods not to buy. My daughter is complaining because I will not buy cheese any more for anyone in the family. they can eat cheese when they are away from home. Evan loves cheese. Guest guest
maniacal laughing and nighttime laughing have always > been > connected with a yeast problem, especially after eating sweet foods > like > bananas or sugar. " define maniacal laughing???????????? I wonder if it's similar to times when my son will get really " silly " but over nothing at all, and not from being overtired. It happens all of a sudden, and he can't seem to snap out of it easily. Not very often, but it happened the other day. I've been a tad lax with some sugar, since the rest of the new " regime " is so restictive (to me, since I'm still learning, that is...I realize it won't be, ultimately, once I learn how to make more things). So maybe it was after times of his having sugar???????????????? > > There are more and more on bananas, but I guess it depends on each > individual child. Wow...do you give all his class 1 foods (I'm assuming that's the same as the +1's on the IgG test we did???) only twice a month? has a lot of those, and so far I've been trying to rotate every four days, but very loosely. Just making sure not to give MORE often than that. Beth R.

Do you personally think we should now eliminate ALL soy because of this? The comment really sticks out in my mind that it was " worse " even than casein (or was it the wheat?) with the amount of its offending protein chains, or whatever. is only a +1 for soy as well. But I think I'm going to eliminate it completely. >Chocolate I give maybe once every 2 months. I'm still confused about chocolate. I thought the gf/cf website said Nesquick was ok (or am I remembering wrong?) . I read it SOMEwhere, I know. And I know cocoa is ok, right? But what about cocoa BUTTER (casein?) and what's the difference between chocolates to make some choc chips gf/cf? In other words, looking at labels myself, which words do I look for to avoid, and which would be ok? I thought I also read somewhere that a " high quality chocolate bar " could be used for something or other, and I didn't get why that would be different. Sorry I'm being so vague! You should " see " the state of my brain right now! It's about as hazy as it can get with all this quick learning............... Peanuts and > cashews I just dobn't give at all cause I can use almond butter > instead. Is that less expensive? I'm assuming they have this at the HFS's? > Pork I don't give has a +1 for this, too. Do you avoid it because it's on some list (Feingold, maybe?) or for some other reason? Thanks. Beth R.
