Guest guest
What dosage did you start out on with Methimazole? I saw you said your dr said take 10 mgs once a day and you took 15 mgs 3 times a day? (that is 45 mgs) in one day? Also, the TSH stays suppressed for quite some time, so I wouldn't even look at that too much at this point. It also lags behind 6-8 weeks. Guest guest
oh okay! whew! lol I was a little afraid to say too much wondering, why such a high dose. lol. I am thinking that if the FT4 stays in the upper range is good? Same with FT3, but if I'm mistaken somebody will correct me shortly. It does take longer for FT3 tests to come in. Not sure how much longer though? Sandy~houston On Fri, 10 Oct 2003 12:00:28 -0500 Jae wrote:
Guest guest
Hi Jae, I'm trying to see if I read your post right. The dr. said take 10mg per day total and you took 45mg total? That's a big difference in dosage and explains the rapid drop in your FT4 level. You should probably let the doctor know that. Right now the doc thinks you responded that well and that fast to a dosage of only 10 mg per day. Think he should know that your response to the meds was on a dose 4.5 times more than he thinks. in MA USA Graves since March 1997 Currently on 2 PTU tablets per day Was in remission from 2000-2003 Will not undergo RAI

The thing is that I took more because I wanted to start a little higher and go down instead of starting low and if that didn't work going up.
