Guest guest
I have been following the discussion regarding chelation with interest. So far, all of the feedback has been very positive. I am wondering if there's anyone on this board who has tried chelation and have it fail? According to the site mentioned that had the DAN protocol, there have been incidents where symptoms worsened and did not improve with chelation therapy. But everything I've heard about chelation among the various groups I subscribe to has been positive. Dh and I also have another question regarding mercury. Dh has a mouth full of fillings made from mercury. I have only had one filling ever and that was just a plastic cap. We wonder if the amount of mercury in dh's system could have had any effect on our son? Thanks for all your replies, I am hoping there are lots! Guest guest
There is some thought that maternal fillings can pass mercury into a child during pregnancy. I have never heard of it being passed through the DH. Do you know of the mercury-autism list here at Yahoo? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Autism-Mercury You can search their archives for some of your questions. That list discusses chelation. > I have been following the discussion regarding chelation with interest. > So far, all of the feedback has been very positive. Guest guest
If you are concerned about the amalgam (silver) fillings in your sons mouth, definatly have them replaced with composite ones. They are much more expensive, take longer to put in, and there is an arguement about the length of time they last, and should not be placed in back teeth where it is over 3 surfaces are involved (there are 5 surfaces to every tooth). They just can't withstand that kind of crushing strength. You would then need to resort to a crown or cap (same thing), and you have a choice of porcelain or metal. They do not use mercury in any type of crown, however, some of the metals may not be desirable, we especially see reactions to the nickel in them,(usually red-puffy gums). Ask your dentist for more info on this. Good luck< Cheri****
