New labs and doctor politics

My first labs are partially in after taking meth for 8.5 weeks.

****8/11/2003:

Free T4 4.44 (0.78-2.19) Notes say High

TSH <0.003 (0.465-4.680) Notes say Abnormal

****10/9/2003

Free T4 1.04 -- (0.78 - 2.19) Notes say Normal.

TSH hasn't moved a lick.

<0.003 (0.465-4.680) Notes say Low

I penciled in FT3 on the lab orders but this test isn't back yet. Is

this a really expensive one?

Now the doc prescribed 10 mg methimazole taken once a day but I decided

to take 15 mg three times a day and I did so for 5 weeks before

dropping to about 12.5 mg.

Should I tell the doctor this? (Seems like I wasn't wrong to take a

bigger dosage given the results.)

Did I do something stupid and just luck out? Should I ever do this

again? hahaha
