Since I'm seeing the opthalmologist that specializes in TED on Monday, I want to know why it's helpful to have these tests run. What will they tell us that will help decide diagnosis and how to treat? I was originally diagnosed as hypothyroid nearly three years ago. Then this spring I became thyrotoxic from too much armour thyroid. Now my levels are within normal range (lab ranges in brackets): FT4 11.2 (8-22) FT3 4.7 (2.7-5.7) TPO 65.9 (< 60). The clinical signs of possible TED are lid retraction and deteriorating vision, first noticed in early September. The first opthalmologist though measured proptosis.
