Elaine,

You wrote:

yes, even though the one thyroid antibody test was only slightly

elevated, that is significant. It would also be helpful to run other thyroid

tests, like TBII or TSH receptor antibodies and an anti-TPO test

Would you please say more.

Since I'm seeing the opthalmologist that specializes in TED on Monday, I

want to know why it's helpful to have these tests run. What will they tell

us that will help decide diagnosis and how to treat? I was originally

diagnosed as hypothyroid nearly three years ago. Then this spring I became

thyrotoxic from too much armour thyroid.

Now my levels are within normal range (lab ranges in brackets): FT4 11.2

(8-22) FT3 4.7 (2.7-5.7) TPO 65.9 (< 60). The clinical signs of possible TED

are lid retraction and deteriorating vision, first noticed in early

September. The first opthalmologist though measured proptosis. The following

week the endo did not.

Appreciating you,

Sheila
