Guest guest
Welcome Elsie, When did your eyes start bulging? Was it before or after RAI? Sleeping with your head elevated is helpful to keep down swelling in the orbital tissues. You can elevate the bed itself or use pillows. Are you having double vision or any other eye symptoms, like tearing and redness and a grittty feeling in your eyes? You really need to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist or neuro ophth who has experience in treating thyroid eye disease. It is a separate disorder from Graves Disease and RAI can cause it or cause it to worsen if you have it prior to RAI. Please have an ophth check you out. Is your doctor monitoring you right now on TSH alone, or is he looking at your FreeT3 and FreeT4 levels too? What are your current lab results with the normal limits? What dose of PTU are you on and how often to you take it? Hope you will be feeling better soon. Are you having double vision or any other eye symptoms, like tearing and redness and a grittty feeling in your eyes? Hi , Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my post. My eyes are fine so far, and while my vision could be alot better, I also work with tiny electronic components all day, and am on the computer for hours each night. That may be contributing to my vision problems also. My eyes aren't buldging thank God. The Dr mentioned sleeping on 2 pillows as we were talking, but it wasn't directed at any problems I'm having now. As for PTU, I take 50mg pills. I take 2 PTU pills 3x a day. I'm going to have the Dr fax my test results to me, since he told me word of mouth today, and I forget exactly what the reading was. Also, I'd like to have them for my records. Thank you again for your kind get well wishes too! Always, Elise**
