Congratulations, Dionne, for a successful (victorious, even) doctor's visit. I

only disagree with your dr. on one point: this is your best chance NOT to need

meds for the rest of your life, unlike someone without a thyroid gland. You have

a good chance at getting to remission and also a good chance of staying in

remission as well, especially as you learn the dietary and lifestyle changes

that can help.

I just came back from the doctor. It's looking really good. I told her that I

don't want to do the radioactive iodine. She said

ok but it would mean I would be on meds for the rest of my life. I told I

rather do that than be damage my thyroid. She was cool with that. I ask her

for

the test results of the blood test in the mail. She told to tell the nurse

who

will call back with the results to do it.
