On enzymes, chelation, and every other crazy therapy

We have been pure gfcf for 6 months with fantastic results, better social,

astounding language growth, more acceptable behavior, our son actually

laughs out loud, (everyone is astounded when they here it from him now). We

will be gfcf for life I hope because we all feel better eating that way(yes,

I do have personal infringement

Most people off list thought the diet might harm our son, it didn't. I

thought chelation was harmful. Now we are gearing up for it having just

removed our sons amalgams. We will probably try a brief trial of enzymes to

measure its effects and use them if our trial indicates a benefit. First day

I logged on list I was overwhelmed . I knew nothing. I did however have good

advice from my Doctor when I told him I wanted to try some interventions and

would he support us. He said " First rule try to do no harm " . So far so good

GFCF diet is the safest intervention I have seen. We stuck with it because

it worked and we started learning about other interventions and supps and

only acted on them when we felt we were being responsible by understanding

how they were supposed to work. We are now prepared to take responsibility

for chelating our son but until now wouldn't have dared due to lack of

understanding and evidence that it is appropriate. I believe we have covered

those bases.

What am I saying? I want to hear about enzymes and every other thing that

could help my child. It is up to me to decide how to act. I trust (fingers

crossed) that I am doing the right thing. I also like to see some heated

debate, it keeps us honest and makes us better advocates.I don't think you

can see a coin in its totallity by looking only on one side. I was recently

admonished by a listmate for quoting a misleading stastic and was glad for

it. I don't want to mislead anyone.

Thanks for being there for us everyone. We couldn't have done this without

all of you. And I never would have seen a single post from anyone were it

not for a little book by Serroussi...........Thank you
