Guest guest
Jeff has a HUGE issue with dyes and natural flavors. He gets the same reaction as your son got with this darn drink. Give some more baths - 2-3 a day. When the welts simmer down, add epsom salts. Epsom salts can hurt open welts and make them painful. So make sure to do them after they go down and not open. Epsom salts helped Jeff with getting through the crap food he got his hands on or we tested him on. Hang in there. Yep, this sounds all to familiar A Jeffs mom Blue dye reaction? Last night, my mother (who thinks it's terrible that I'm putting my son through this diet) asked me if could have a blue Squeez-It type drink. I gave in, after reading the ingredients and seeing no gluten or casein. Now, has bright green pure liquid diarhea, to the point that it ran out of his diaper, down into his socks. He's also got some oval-shaped welts where the diarhea touched his thighs. I put him in the bath as soon as I noticed, but it was probably on him for several minutes before I noticed (baking and freezing muffins today). Does anyone else see any of these reactions to blue dye, or sould I be looking for another culprit? ===== __________________________________________________
Guest guest
My son has had reactions this year when ever we swim at the club pool. We kept looking for reasons and found out (finally- mid way through the summer) that they add a strong blue dye in with the chemicals to keep the water a darker blue green color. His reaction to it is acting very drunk, off balance and he likes to body slam the water, so to speak. I was reading earlier today on the emzymes and autism list where food dyes can inhibit digestion of certain items and maybe that's more like the reaction you are seeing. Guest guest
I found a lot of my information about this and phenols, artificial additives and colors from the Feingold website. I kind of studied it a while, tried what I could with the information they have and then purchased the program binder. It's been really helpful. I've discovered, I think, what causes me to have migraine cluster headaches as well. Here's their website.. http://www.feingold.org They also have a yahoo group as well but there doesn't seem to be as much traffic on it. What is there is usually helpful though. I am in no way affiliated or trying to advertise their program. Just passing on information that helped our particular cases in a big way. Probably much more than going GFCF. Donna
Guest guest
I am very interested on the fact that food dyes can inhibit digestion of certain items. We have taken food dyes out of our sons diet and have seen good things but I would love to have some documentation to back this up, it is easier to convince the schools if you can show something in writing. Can you please direct me to these? Thanks in advance Preston's Mom Re: Blue dye reaction? > My son has had reactions this year when ever we swim at the club pool.
