Sorry so long to reply- I have been off the list for a few weeks, but

I had to share a tip from a friend, whose autistic son is 7 and much

more severe than my son.

When they go out to eat, they request a booth. She and her husband

both say to the people on either side of them, before sitting down:

" Our son is autistic and social situations are hard for him. Would

it be OK if we sit here, or would you prefer we sit someplace else? "

People usually fall all over themselves to be accommodating in that

situation. No one has EVER told them to sit elsewhere, and they

usually receive compliments about how well-behaved Connor is, even if

he was awful!

Try it!
