Guest guest
List from our pediatrician: Anti-constipating foods/drinks: water full strength fruit juices peaches pears prunes apricots bran lettuce Constipating: milk/cheese apples/applesauce bananas carrots bread (wheat) pasta (wheat) crackers (and more wheat) potatoes From the pediatrician's nurse: BRAT diet to firm up stools: Bananas Rice Apples, applesauce (not applejuice - doesn't have the pectin) Toast (wheat) Personal experience: Initially on gfcfdiet, my 4.5 year old had diahrrea. That lasted maybe 2 months, then his poops firmed up to normal. After 5 months on gfcfdiet, we tried cheating to see if he would have a reaction. After 4 months of cheating, we were fed up with the constipation, itchy, bleeding bottom. We tried everything: mineral oil, epsom salts, Miralax. Finally we decided being off the diet just wasn't worth it, for the constipation and rectal problems, if nothing else. Back on the diet for the last 7 months, no more constipation. , I have a sister with schizophrenia Blake's mom, encephalopathy, 5.11 's mom, skinny, not celiac, but gaining gfcf, 2.
