I take atnol because I have astma I can not take beta blockers. i am on 50mgx3 aday of PTU I have gain about 20lbs since starting in July is this normal? I still feel hyper but not as bad.. i feel I am getting better but someone said I would take up to 18 mounts to reach remission. does that mean if the doc reduce my PTU I would go really Hyper again? Guest guest
Regina, The key to your questions lies in the Ft3 and Ft4 test results. It's almost impossible to answer without those. There are normal ranges, and you see where you fit into those ranges--for me, if I am not at the very top (that is, close to hyper levels) of the range, I don't feel good and I gain weight. So, my main suggestion is to get copies of your test results, and share them with us--and also, when you go to the lab, do note how you feel, on the day the blood is drawn. Every clue we can gather to help us with finding our optimum levels is important. Guest guest
Hi Regina, Sorry, I am way behind on the list here. Did you get this question straightened out ? I hate to end up sounding like a broken record. Now... as far as 'Crazy', well that is a completely separate issue from Graves' . < big grin > Doesn't matter if you are or not, all are welcome here, and understood ! -Pam L- 3 1/2 years Graves', TED, and PTU. Remission due to SLOW reduction of PTU (despite an incompetent endo ! ), improved lifestyle, excellent nutrition, herbs, and looking at the big picture. Pills alone only help the symptoms. We must help our bodies to heal. -- can't take beta blockers Good Morning. in answer to the replay post off yesterday for my heart palps.
