Guest guest
Hey guys!!! I wanted to add my two cents to this post. I have a perfectly healthy 5 1/2 year old that chews his shirts too!! He has chewed a hole on the shoulder of one recently. He does not have reflux or any diagnosed conditions......I think it is either boredom or a habit that he picked up. He never did it as a baby and never used a pacifier or a blanket for comfort, so I am at a loss for answers. I can tell you that it has been a challenege to get him to stop. Jay 5 1/2 yrs entering Kindergarten Yeah!!! 42 1/2 inches and 43 pounds Mathieu 18 1/2 months 20# 29 " diagnosed with Crohn's My son (non rss) chewed his shirt too! He did it for about 9 months and it drove me nuts! His shirts would be wet and even have small holes in them where he chewed. He outgrew this habit but I thought he was the only kid that did that! nne Does this have something to do with reflux? has been chewing on his shirts for a long time now, but here lately it has gotten worse, to were he will do it everyday. His shirts are soaking wet! My mom has asked me why he does this, and I say " I don't know, but he does it a aot. " So, I was wondering if that and the reflux went together somehow??? Jodi R. Guest guest
Well, we started Willie on Zantac. It'll take awhile to know if we are seeing results but I have definitely noticed an increased interest in breakfast. He said bacon gave him the most " headache in his neck " (reflux?). I was thinking maybe that's because it's served in the morning and he's gone all night w/o eating so the reflux is worse? I'm sure not all shirt chewing is related to reflux. Sometimes you just know ,though, right? It started when he started Periactin and he only started putting holes in them since Dr Harbison increased the dose at the convention. S. also mentioned increased reflux w/increased appetite stimulant.
