Hello everyone,

thank you thank you for all the ideas and help, I will try to give a

short update about danique.

We have been to the dr. , she isn't dehydrated......not yet, she

hasn't got another illness desease or something like this also,

doesn't have to go to the hospital (thank god!) and didn't lost to

much weight, for this moment she is still doing fine but needs more

fluids then she wants this moment or we will be in trouble.......I

had to explain the diet to him because he never heard of this before,

he wasn't sceptical about this and was very impressed with the

progress she already made, we agreed this diet is very important for

danique but also that she really needs the liquids.......we are going

to try all the ideas and suggestions everybody sent me, but I've

noticed that she is very very hard in her mind, everything that isn't

her favorite drink is just refusedno matter what I give her,

icecreams, soup everything. We have made a plan, trying to give her as

much as possible, give her a spoon with plain water every 15 minutes,

giving her the carbonate with water and yesterday I've ordered the

enzymes from the USA......if this isn't working in a copple of days ,

we have to decided to give her enough of her favorite drink to

prevent dehydrating, maybe in combination with the enzymes this will

be oke for a while..then slowly mix the favorite drink with other

milksubstitutes untill she is really free of the

caseinproducts........I've talked with several dr.s and other people

today and together with all the helping people here I came to the

conclusion that this refusing of drinking (except her favorite) is

based on a very BIG withdrawel sympton and a very STRONGMINDED little

girl......our girl.....

Today she had some little sips of water and nothing else, but she

wasn't as quiet as she was the last copple of days (maybe because of

the infringment? I don't know). We think thanks to the help of all the

people here we will do fine very soon, a combination of all the ideas

is the best I think...

Tommorow we will also get the results of the urine test, I will post

them as soon as possible, I really want to know what the casein is

doing with her body.....

Thank you all again, I'm very gratefull to have all those helping

friends overhere, without you we never survived this.....

thank you again from Holland

miranda and ronald

parents of lisanne 6 years old healty and danique 3 years old pdd-

nos ,mentally disabled, epylepsie and making a LOT of progress....

(still doing after all yesterday we went to the theatre , one hour

long she enjoyed terrible.....two months ago I would never dreamt

that this was possible with danique)

Hi Miranda,

I understand how serious this seems to you, and rightly so. I think you're

doing all the right things and that you will get the best outcome possible

for your child.

My wife and I used to argue about whether our oldest got her stubbornness

from me or my wife, until we managed to agree that she got both our

stubbornness added together. Our second child is also strong willed, and

then there's our third who has the autism label. Sometimes I wonder how

much these personality traits actually indicate/predict about the more

serious medical problems we're seeing as parents.

Just a thought, but why not start offering your daughter milk and water

right now, say 50/50, even 70/30 if need be? If she starts drinking, then

after a day or two reduce to 40% milk and 60% water or 60/40 if need be.

You see what I'm saying. If the doctors feel this is intense withdrawal and

your child's resisting, maybe it's good to lighten it up a little.

I know since New Years I've cut down on cigarettes... a 30 yr habit with

me. And overall I've cut back by about 1/3, with good days and bad days.

But if I tried to quit 100% I can guarantee you I'd be back to my old

normal number right now. Instead I set a more reasonable goal and feel

great about smoking less than I used to.

All the best,

Marty
