Evelyn,

I have 2 sons Jack (ASD 5yrs) & Luke (Downs 6yrs).

Both are gfcf.

Jack has had dramatic results with the diet.

Luke has had very good results with the diet, more than enough good stuff is

happening to justify him remaining gfcf. Although the diet is never going to

take away the extra chromosome (and I wouldn't want it to), it has

eliminated many things that I was told were due to Luke being Downs, that we

would have to learn to live with ie poor immune system/health problems and

chronic bowel problems. The teachers at his school have noticed a very

positive change in him too.

If your collegue would like to mail me off list on

marilyn.lebreton@... I'd be happy to elaborate.

Down's Syndrome was distinctly brought up at the recent DAN conference in

Atlanta. I just don't remember what conclusions they had drawn over it and

what helped. I'll look through my notes though and the conference handouts

and ask my husband, maybe he'll remember. It might be posted somewhere on

the autism research institutes website as well. Several of the doctors or

presenters didn't have their stuff in the conference handouts because they

didn't turn them in in time for printing but noted that the info would be

available on the website. dwpittard
