Guest guest
I'm sorry I can't help you with the work board. I'm just wondering why the school won't provide him with something. Does he have a dx? It bothers me that his grades are being effected by his inability to write legibly. My 11yo is similar, though he had a remarkable improvement from clo, magnesium, and B vitamins. Before these supplements his writing was completely illegible, so much so that I was just praying I could teach him to sign his name and forget about any other writing. Won't the teacher at least allow him to use a computer for his work? Lolita >His handwriting seems to get worse and not better and it is getting >him F's in school. Guest guest
I did a web search and found it and someone on the RAD list also remembered what it is. http://www.alphasmart.com/index.html is not even in school now because of his behaviors. He is my ADHD/RAD/bipolar possibility. Right now he is being schooled at home by a teacher that comes one hour daily. Next year he may be in a behavior class or back at home. I do not want him in an emotionally disturbed class. He does not have an IEP yet but I think that we will be working on one for next year. Now he spends most of his time re-doing his work so that even he can read it. I plan on having him go through 'Hand Writing Without Tears' during the summer to see if that will improve his handwriting. I have the books for his little brother to learn to write also. Guest guest
Betty, you have my complete empathy. My son is probably affected by non-verbal disorder, though his emotional behavior before clo, magnesium and B's suggested AS. I wouldn't have wanted him in an emotionally disturbed class either, though if he'd been in public school that's where he would have been put. Having to re-write his work must be frustrating for your son. Writing is such a chore, and pain for my son. My brother has deplorable writing and has a prominent position in a large company where he is responsible for sending many notices. I asked him how, with his handwriting. He said he never writes anything by hand- he does it all on his computer, then just signs his name. I figure my job to my son is to make sure he can type, and sign his name. Though at this time he is able to complete his school work in his own writing (but he's homeschooled, I'm more accepting than a ps teacher would be). Best of luck to you and your son.
