Guest guest
Sounds good ! " I have also started taking herbal medicine to strenghten my immune system. I think it's eye of newt *g* and various plant roots whose names I cannot pronounce. " Please be careful here. You do not want to take anything that " stimulates " the autoimmune system. Yours is already on overdrive. Check out PamB's site: http://www.webmosaics.com/thyroid/#\ S9 Keep us posted on your progress, and make sure you get the TSH, FreeT3 and FreeT4 tests each month. Most feel best with a TSH of 1-2 and the FreeTs in the upper third of normal range. God bless,

Guest guest
Hi , With you're posiitve attitude you should be able to deal with Graves' easily (or at least deal with it!). Since the ultimate key is to let our immune systems heal, a relaxed attitude is part of the cure. Along with a liver function test your dr. should run a CBC. The other rare but possible side effect of the medication is to interfere with your ability to make white blood cells to fight infection, so after the baseline you need to get additional CBCs any time you have a sore throat or fever. The risk is greatest at the beginning. The big dietary problem for Graves' is to avoid iodine. There are lists of iodine content in food in the group's archives. Soy, msg, and artificial flavors and colors also cause problems, esp. red dye, which has iodine. It's important to avoid stimulants while you're hyper . A very useful book is Elaine 's Graves' Disease: A Practical Guide, which covers a lot of ground. Best wishes,
