Guest guest
Beth and Jodi, I'm sold!! I had Jack's three-year checkup yesterday and told our pediatrician that we really wanted to see Dr. H and didn't want to wait for the geneticist to send us her referral to a ped. endo in Hartford. Our pediatrician was all for our seeing Dr. H and even had us go to get Jack's x-ray for bone age yesterday in case we needed it asap. I called Dr. H's office and I guess I need to send all of Jack's tests (blood, urine, x-ray, endoscopy, etc.), height charts and weight charts from birth to 3 yrs. and have them reviewed by her office before they will call me back to make an appointment. Is this pretty standard? I hope we get " in " ! I feel like we're hoping to get backstage to meet a favorite celebrity or something! Hee. Thanks!! marcy > > Marcy, > > > > I just have to jump in here and say Hi, I am sure will be > > answering your questions. But you gave me a chuckle this am! Guest guest
Marcy, I am so glad that you made that step. I know you want to get the best treatment for Jack, and you will get it from her. She is VERY thorough. I don't know about them having to review the records and stuff just to see if you will get in. In my experience, I had emailed with Dr H. before our appointment, and based on the info I was giving her, she became VERY concerned about and wanted to see him immediately. So much so, that we went from a January 2004 appoinment to a October appointment that only gave me two weeks to get 's records together. I had to hand carry the records because she wouldn't have gotten them on time had I mailed them. So, she does like to review and look at the child's records before she sees them. I don't think it is whether you will get " in " or not. It is a matter of getting to know the child......on paper first, I think. That would be my guess. It may take a while before you get a phone call from them since she is so busy, but you will get to see her I am sure. Just do your part in getting the info to her quickly, because the quicker you get her the info, the quicker you will get an appointment. And, if after some time goes by and you don't hear from her office, call them back. ) Can you tell I have been through all of this before!? Lol! ) Persistence pays off......most of the time. ) Take care, Jodi R. , 28 months old today and weighing in at a whopping 19 lbs! > > > Marcy, > > > > > > I just have to jump in here and say Hi, I am sure will > be > > > answering your questions.
