Guest guest
* Tonia, my son is also allergic to rice, soy too, so in any recipes calling for rice flour I substitute sorghum. I use sorghum straight, and if I'm running low I also have made a mix of sorghum for 1/2 the amount and then the other 1/2 of amount I mixed tapioca starch, arrowroot and amaranth. Basically, I use what I got. in New York * On Sun, 27 May 2001 10:30:02 -0700 (PDT) Tonia at Baby Bubble Bottoms writes: > Does anyone know of a good substitute for Rice Flour > in receipes? Guest guest
Yes, sorghum is a great flour that can be used equally to rice. I like to mix it with tapioca flour and potato starch as well. I think you have to use xanthum gum with it though--not sure, is any one??? Rice Flour > Does anyone know of a good substitute for Rice Flour > in receipes? Guest guest
I mix a blend of garbanzo bean, amaranth, potato, tapioca, and I use rice. You can also ue some corn starch. I think that you always need to use xantham gum anytime you aren't baking with gluten. --- alwaysaway1@... wrote: > * > Tonia, my son is also allergic to rice, soy too, so > in any recipes > calling for rice flour I substitute sorghum.
