Guest guest
I have to chime in with Jodi. When I returned to work after Adam had been born, he was just short of a year old. However, I also had a Portuguese sitter, I took Adam and Colette to her. Now it needs to be mentioned that Adam didn't have feeding tubes etc. but he was a fussy eater that took forever (and still takes forever!). But this lady decided her life's mission was to " fatten him up " (of course we know it isn't that simple) but she was determined she could do it so she was willing to do anything to get him to eat. Later, I think Adam was 18 months old I had to switch sitters and got an Italian lady and she was the same way. She was determined to fatten him up. I have noticed over the years that these wonderful people who make babysitting their life's work are special indeed and they can get our kids to do things that we could never do. The kids just seem to mind differently and behave differently. I still remember the Portuguese lady had beautiful nick knacks on her coffee table and I said " oh the kids will be into those FOR SURE!! " and my kids never once touched them (unless I was standing there and then they would go wild!). It's amazing.
