Hi Barb,

Singulair is suspicious but hasn't been widely studied. It is linked to the

development of another autoimmune disease, I believe chronic relapsing

polychronditis. One of the autoimmune boards had info on this about a year ago.

You

might want to do more research on this.

Symptoms of DIL generally resolve within a few weeks although the ANA can

stay positive much longer. In rare cases it stays positive but there are no real

studies that try to figure out if the persistent ANA could be linked to

another cause.

The drugs definitely associated with DIL are chlorpromazine (Thorazine),

hydralazine, isoniazid, methyldopa, minocycline, procainamide and quinidine. The

other drugs I mentioned and the ones listed by NIEHS, including the ATDs, have

a weak or suspected association. Take care, Elaine
