Guest guest
> Hi all, > > Need help from any of you out there. Wondering if any of you have children with ADD or tics or Tourettes?? Are they a sibling to your autistic kid?? Any one tried the GFCF diet on these kids?? I am wondering if Tourettes could be part of the autism spectrum or one of the consequences of mercury and vaccines???? thoughts anyone? Thank you , > Hi , Well, my younger son, when he was 4 had a TIC, he cleared his throat a million times a day, that lasted for a year, then he would sniff a millions times a day, then it went to the most socially expectable one of all(he would pinch, not play with the end of his penis, very quickly and be done with it!) Many times a day! Well, of course they all thought many things, doctors I mean, wanted to put him on Ritalin or other meds. I refused and learned all about Sensory Integration Dysfunction, and when I read The Out of Sync child, by Carol Kranowitz, I knew this was him. The anxiety connected with this is huge and the developmental(social delays can be huge), after therapy and education for all who are in his life, he no longer has a TIC of any type. This was all before the diet. So I can't say that the diet had anything to do with it. We did cut out SUGAR and had him eat every few hours, not 3 meals a day. He is a new kid. Guest guest
I have a ten year old with ADHDan d bipolar disorder. I tried the diet for him but since he was much older than his brother when the diet was started, he refused to stay on it, would eat what ever he wanted at school, so I cant say if it would have worked or not, but we did try. Guest guest
We stopped our 2 1/2 yr old's facial tics by doing the diet. We are on GFCF, soy free, phenols free, additives/preservatives free.It only took a month to figure out the foods that were triggering the blinking and twitching. He also has low blood sugar sometimes which seems to trigger a bit of blinking, but otherwise, he's blink/twitch free! I believe tourettes and stuttering can be helped by diet too.
