Guest guest
Hi Dawn Rose, That's an interesting question to me as I've had the opposite change since Graves': I now shiver uncontrollably at the least chill, even though now I'm euthyroid. Seems like exactly the opposite of your experience. Simon suggested that in Graves' our temperature control system becomes disrupted, which may be the general answer in both our cases. I'd be curious to hear how it works for other people. Best wishes,
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Good to hear from you. I always thought it was temperature receptors in epidermal skin cells that caused shivering. When I was hypothyroid I literally never sweated even at my aerobics class, and I shivered quite often. Now I still shiver, but not with the same intensity as when I was hypo or hyper. Take care, Elaine
