Guest guest
Hi Luci: How do your new numbers compare to your last labs, and when was your last lab? Now's the time to start really keeping track of your numbers, a lab test every 3 weeks is not too extreme if you start to feel different or hypo. When I got down to 50mg of PTU, I just cut it in have and took it in 8 hour increments, I did fine on that, but 3 doses sounds good too. If I were you, I'd stay on this dose for a few weeks, monitoring how you feel. Then take the labs including antibody tests to see where you stand. For me, there were several months of adjustments before I totally went off PTU once my numbers were in normal range. Another interesting reason to monitor your labs now is to find out where in the normal range you seem to feel best. Usually the doctors only care that it's within range, but many of us find that certain levels work better for us. From my own experience, I want to caution you not to make any false moves, do the meds and labs systematically and you will avoid a lot of confusion. Guest guest
Hi , I have my last labs here. Now I think I might have lost2 months worth of labs and I have no idea where they are. I'm going to call endo office and ask for them to be faxed back to me. Here goes from feb,,2003 TSH .46 range...40-5.50 T4T 8.1 range...4.5-12. T3u 28.5 range...27.8-40.7 T4f 2.31 range...1.53-3.85. At that time I was put on PTU 100mg. Just shortly after,I got totally sick, sore throat, crying just plane sick sick sick....I was achy in my joints, hair started falling out, then overnight, I felt better, well not compleetely overnight....but then I did start to feel better. So that's where I'm at now. My job is back to the grind again. I'm not traveling so far. I feel a bit less stressed about that but more stressed in other things.I guess it's all a balancing act. Thanks Luci > > The endo has lowered my dose of PTU to 50 mg 1 time a day, that I > > have split into 3 doses as equal as possible. I feel ok. I'm > > hopeful for remission.
