I tried this and its good- my invention:

Boil 1 cup water with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Add into the boiling water a

little less then 3/4 cup corn meal. Almost immediately it will absorb

and form a thick paste so shut the heat off and remove from stove. As

soon as you can get it cool enough to touch smear this on hotdogs (I use

Applegate brand - and I dry them off real good first so that the paste

sticks) It is real messy and takes a little practice to get it covered

good. I keep running my hands under cold water to try and form a perfect

cover onto the dogs. I deep fry them till they look nice. WARNING -

this is messy but gets easy with practice and they taste GREAT!

I bet the recipe that denise just posted for batter would work beautifull,

just coat a hot dog and drop in deep fryer. F

No, but I was thinking of using the cornbread recipe, watered down a

little. Then fry in hot deep fryer. If you try it before me, let me know.

Otherwise I'll post my results.
