Guest guest
Hi, Usually the lab offers either an ANA test or an ANA Profile. Some labs automatically run an ANA profile, which includes a titer and a pattern, if the ANA test is positive. Others don't. It could be that you received a preliminary result and the panel will follow. But if the lab only runs the test that was ordered they may have just run the test. If they are not planning to run the panel, and this has a lot to do with federal regulations for lab ordering, your doctor can ask them the other tests be added. Most labs will save the sample for 7 days or longer and could still run the other tests. Take care, Elaine
Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I just wanted to tell you that I, and several others of us over the past two years that I've been on this list, have had positive ANA tests returned that ended up meaning absolutely nothing - it seems that having graves can give you a positive ANA - not that you necessarily have anything additional wrong. Hope this turns out to be the case for you as well, Pam B.
