Get a blood screening test done. And don't let a doctor tell you that celiac is rare. 1 in 150 people in North America have it. Most don't know it either. Diagnosis rates are somewhere around 1 in 2000. All the symptoms you describe are symptoms of possible Celiac. FYI, Celiac is most commonly misdiagnosed as Crohns. ---------------------------------------------- Jay Bigam Marketing and Information Technology Manager Kinnikinnick Foods Inc. www.kinnikinnick.com Toll Free: 1-

EXACTLY what I'm trying to tell the CPS WORKER WHO CAME TO MY DOOR YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!! My 11 yr old NT son is a small child - 60 lbs., 53 in. A big gain from 2 years ago but only 3 lbs heavier than last year. The freak MD or nurse who did his camp physical (I wasn't there), instead of calling me, called CPS! The complaint: " Failure to thrive. " All I want to know is who to slap! The last doctor I took him to (about 2 yrs ago) kept saying, " Feed that kid! He's too skinny! " GRRRRR! I DO feed the kid, and I feed him well, and he eats just fine and is healthy. He's just naturally SMALL! After first explaining to this guy that all 5 of his older brothers and sister were exactly the same until puberty, when they suddenly *grew* to average height and weight, I suggested celiac and told him I wanted to do the GFCF diet (along with his autistic little brother), and why. He *agreed* with me that it might be celiac and that the diet wouldn't hurt. Then at the end of the visit, as if he hadn't heard a single thing I had said, he lectured, " Feed that kid! He's too skinny! " Left high and dry by the MD's (Medical Deities) to do my own research and the diet, and both boys doing *much* better - what is getting blamed for this " failure to thrive " ? The DIET! What I've implemented to see if it would help! According to the CPS worker, the doctor who did the camp phyical says reported he eats nothing but rice! What actually *said* is that we substitute rice for gluten, not that he eats nothing else! So instead of talking to *me,* this government shill at the clinic *turned me in!* " He's the size of a 6 yr old. " Utter, complete, total nonsense. He's the size, proportion and intelligence of an 11 yr old who is small before puberty. But these idiots get away with it, and keep their jobs doing it - and doctors who work for " public " clinics obviously have no understanding of reality beyond keeping their jobs. " Kid not conforming to chart - report to CPS, take no responsibility. My responsibility for how this disrupts the kid's life - none at all. And I get to feel good and justify myself. " Never again! And if ayone knows someone in Milwaukee with a brain who I can trust to be my kids' doctor... let me know! I'm done as I can be with these creeps. I'm done as I can be with these creeps. Have you looked up Dr. Norman Schwartz? He's a regular doc, who also follows the DAN protocal. He may be able to help you. He has an autistic son, so he's very up on everything. a - Madison WI
Guest guest
Kate: Sorry to hear that this has happened. Like we don't have enough to worry about with our children that we need another creep hurting the process. I can truly understand your frustrations with the doctors. We see a well-known gastro doctor at the Children's hospital and he wrongly diagnosed my son and gave him medication that nearly killed him. If it wasn't for me being a strong willed person and a bleep things would not be well. Why must we constantly fight with unprepared uneducated doctors who are so versed in old ways that they can't see the light. I am sure many of us have stories we can tell about the things doctor's have or have not done to our kids and our families sanity. Right now this is your story and I hope things turn out for the best. Please keep us posted as to how things go with CPS. This is why I want to homeschool my kids so that this doesn't happened with camp, school, etc. LOL, Sharon
