I was thinking of using it as a powdered milk replacer. I wonder if this would not go here just as well as DariFree? Betty > > Whipped Topping > > 1 tsp. unflavored gelatin (could experiment substituting pectin) > 2 tsp. cold water > 3 TBSP. boiling water > 1/2 c. ice water > 1/2 c. dry milk powder (I'm going to try a powdered substitute) > 3 TBSP. sugar > 3 TBSP. oil > > Chill a small bowl. Soften gelatin in the cold water, then add the > boiling water, stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Cool > until tepid (lukewarm). Place the ice water and milk powder in the > chilled bowl. Beat at high speed until it forms peaks. While still > beating, add the sugar, then the oil, then the gelatin. I'm new at this. (Whipped topping recipe) Sounds interesting! For the milk sub could you use either Darifree or that Better Than Milk powder? I just bought some tonight...it looked ok.
