Guest guest
Hi All, Braeden hasen't had a bowel movement in 3 days. He is lethargic and refluxing allot. I have given him Mirilax and suppositories but, nothing has worked. I left a message awhile ago with his ped nurse but, they always take awhile to get back to me. Does anyone have any ideas? I could really use the help. Thanks in advance for any advice. Guest guest
Braeden is fed through a G-tube. Has anyone tried prune juice through a tube. All he has ever had is formula/peptamin JR through his tube. Thanks. Saundra > Hi All, > Braeden hasen't had a bowel movement in 3 days. He is lethargic and > refluxing allot. Guest guest
Saundra, I have used prune juice on Jillie but prior to using miralax which works great on her. I have had doctors suggest anywhere between 1 and 2 ounces (30-60cc)of prune juice per day in 2 doses via a GT for a 20 poundish child. I'd give Braeden 10cc in the morning and 10cc at night. Those doses worked well on Jillie when she was younger. However, Braeden may have the stool in his rectum and it is too big and hard for him to get it out. Did you meet resistance when you put the suppository in? If the poop is too hard for him to get it out, he may need help. His pedi or office nurse can gently manipulate it out with their gloved pinky or a thermometer. Hope he feels better soon. > Hi All, > Braeden hasen't had a bowel movement in 3 days.
