Guest guest
Does anyone know whether Mayer hot dogs are still gfcf? They are on the GFCF website as okay, but Kraft (the parent company) sent me a list of all their products which are gluten free, and no Mayer products were on there. I called an Mayer representative and questioned whether there are truly no gfcf Mayer products or whether the list from Kraft just omitted Mayer products. The rep told me the list from Kraft should have been accurate and complete, but she would send another list of all gfcf Kraft/ Mayer products just in case the one I received had had a page omitted. When I received the second list from Kraft, it again contained no Mayer products. Does anyone know anything further?

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Guest guest
Mayer has a few GFCF products, including hot dogs, franks, sausages, and bologna.I am looking at a wrapper now, and although Kraft is on it, it is only on the back of the wrapper and very small. The address is for Mayer, not Kraft, so they may ver well operate independently. The phone # they give is 1-. The website is www.oscarmayer.com and the adress is Madison Wisconsin. Here are the ingredients for Beef s: beef, water, contains less than 2 % of corn syrup, dextrose, flavor, beef stock, sodium phosphates, autolyzed yeast, sodium erythorbate(made from sugar), oleoresin paprika, sodium nitrite. I have bologna ingredients too if you want them. My son eats these about 3 times a week. WendiD anyone know current status of Mayer hot dogs? > > Does anyone know whether Mayer hot dogs are still gfcf? Guest guest
You know, I think oleoresin paprika is a new ingredient. I have been eating these hot dogs since I was a kid and I have been a pretty good label reader for the last 2 years, and that does not sound familiar. I hope they are still okay. Personally, I think Shelton's are terrible. Any one know of other grocery store available hot dogs? Wendi anyone know current status of Mayer hot dogs? > > > > > > Does anyone know whether Mayer hot dogs are still gfcf? They're on the GFCF list too.. Only hot dogs I'll eat to be honest. Here's the ingredients: Beef, Water, (Contains 2% or less of salt, paprika, potassium chloride, potassium phosphate, garlic powder, sodium ascorbate, flavorings, sodium nitrite). The gfcfdiet.com site says that the fat free and the natural franks are not gfcf, only the reduced fat. I especially like the individually wrapped ones, and Brett eats them all the time. I haven't personally checked their status (I'm trusting the list), but here are the ingredients: Beef and pork, mechanically separated turkey (now there's a yummy picture!), water, corn syrup, salt, potassium lactate (lactate is OK; lactose is not), flavorings, hydrolyzed beef stock, sodium phosphate, ascorbic acid, sodium nitrate, and extractives of paprika. Not exactly health food, but they are one of the very few protein foods that Brett will eat, so I guess you have to pick your poison! We haven't tried the Shelton's yet- I saw them today in the HFS and couldn't bring myself to pay $3.59 for a pack. Happy eating! Sue
