Guest guest
Hi all- Just need to vent and ask a question..but first the vent part! We are in the process of selling our home and looking for a new place to live which is sooo stressful and I am now workin 3, 8 hour days per week. And on my days " off " we have endocrine appts, pediatric weight checks, etc, etc. Since Isaac has hypothyroidism they have to check his TSH levels every other month which means that have to draw blood. I drive about 30 minutes to take him to the children's hospital in Ft. Worth because they only deal with kids..so you would think they would be able to do it. This last time they poked him in each arm and couldn't get a vein so they cut his heel and squeezed a full tube out..It took 30 minutes and he screamed like you wouldn't believe. This is the 2nd time in a row they have done this. When he had his OT appt. this last week she noticed that he is still not wanting to bear any weight on his legs. In fact if you touch his feet he curls his toes and turns them outward. She thinks that the heel poking is causing a sensory problem and that he is resisting anything to do with his feet because he associates them with pain. So not only do I worry about his developmental delays due to the RSS but this is something that is affecting him that shouldn't. On top of all that, my cat has been peeing out side of the litter box so I took her to the vet because that usually means a urinary tract infection and they told me to get a urine sample!! They gave me a little squeezy thing and a container and told me that it would be void if it was refrigerated longer than 12 hours! Driving home from the vet I just laughed as I thought about all of the insanity that we go through...I had to laugh because if I didn't the overwhelming feeling would make me cry. I feel like the Tazmanian devil about 98% of the time..anyone feel the same way? Well if you don't maybe you can tell me how the heck am I supposed to lean a catbox on some phone books and have her pee there so I can squeeze it up and make sure to keep in the fridge no longer than 12 hours!!! Enough of that...now my question- I thought I read somewhere on a previous message that RSS babies teeth don't come in at the " usual " places sometimes. Usually babies get their " front teeth " on their lower jaw first. Maybe I was just dreaming..Isaac is teething but I can't tell which tooth is trying to " come out " . I am assuming it's teething because he will be 7 mos on Thursday and he is drooling like you wouldn't believe! Betcha I could fill up a bucket....to bad the vet won't take a drool sample!! Thanks for listening! Mimi (Mom to Isaac, RSS, Hypothyroidism)
