Guest guest
Hi all, I haven't written in a while, but I'm wondering about something. I look AWFUL. Everyday I have dark circles under my eyes and I don't know what's going on. I look like I haven't slept in days, but I have. Has anyone had this? I don't have any other eye or vision symptoms. Kristi Currently taking 5mg MMi. Have been for a while.
Guest guest
Hi Kristi, Yes, I too have dark circles and some days hate to go out in public. When the puffiness is there too, I really look bad. My eyes were always my best feature, so it is pretty depressing. I hate to have anyone REALLY look at me. I haven't been sleeping...for a long time... and the endo gave me some sleeping pills this week to help me get some rest. I am hoping that will help. It's bad enough to feel soooo crappy, and then to feel like you're ugly too is too much. Take Care, Marlene
Guest guest
Hi, Kristi, I was lowered to 5 mg of Tapazole around March and for the past 6 or 7 weeks have been off again on again with circles under my eyes. I am due for a blood test and am thinking that I am ready for a lower dosage. This eye thing happens just about the time I am starting to move towards too low hormone levels and on the hypo end of the scale. How are your levels? Also, on a few occasions when I've eaten too much Chinese food or something too salty, I get the same symptoms. The eye specialist said that I should eliminate as much salt as possible in my diet to get rid of the bags/circles regardless whether it is iodized not as salt makes the body, including the tissue under the eyes, retain water. There is a firming eye cream that Neutrogena makes called Visibly Firm (with copper) which really helps, too. Hope your dark circles clear up soon. Take care, M. Guest guest
Hello, Kristi I, too, have dark circles under my eyes. It doesn't matter whether I get enough sleep, either, as I always have the dark circles. They are so dark, in fact, that my best friend thought I had a black eye. LOL I have researched " dark circles under eyes " and one site indicated that dark circles don't indicate an illness, they are from aging and inherited. I disagree with that opinion. I never had dark circles before I had Grave's Disease. Another site indicated that dark circles can be caused by a lack of iron. If iron deficiency is not the problem, then it could be allergies or a kidney or liver problem. I happen to have a " fatty liver " , so I guess I will blame the dark circles on Grave's Disease and my liver. 54 years old, diagnosed 8/20/02; on Block and Replace of 15 mg Methimazole/120g Armour. Some days, energetic; other days, not. Can't decide if I have gone back to not sleeping very well because of hyper symptoms or because of the humid, breezeless nights we've been having. I am up to 46 minutes of walking and doing some 5lb weights for arms.
