Guest guest Posted November 13, 2003 Report Share Posted November 13, 2003 sorry its ben a while since i posted any mesages. just wanted to thank everyone for there support.ok here goes.I had RAI. back in march of 2002 and i will tell you that the side affects have ben rough. I have ben on 175mcg of synthroid for the last 7 months and seem to have stablised according to my doctor. Ive tryed to return to my chosen profession as a long haul truck driver but the side affects are making it almost imposilble to do this. some of the side affects are headach " posible from the eye strain or concertartion " the dobbule vision and being moody also the concertration levil i had is not what it was or my patientes is bad.Im not abel to run the miles like i used to I just feal draind most of the time im taking a multy vitaman daily out on the road because i know i dont eat right out here. You would do best to get copies of all lab work from here on, and try to see at what level you feel best. You may need more synthroid, or you may need addition of T3, such as cytomel. Perhaps you'd do better on Armour. If you feel like doo-doo, you probably can do better -- taking a doctor's word for being " stabilized " is not going to cut it. Also, best not to have decompression unless your TED is in remission; that can only be determined by antibody testing (i.e., TSI, TBII). If you have it before the disease has burned out, then you may need additional surgeries, which you'd want to avoid, unless your optic nerve is being threatened.
