Please don't feel like you're being grilled but I do have some questions, the answers to which will enable us to give you a better answer. - Are the tablets 5, 10, or 20 mg.? - Do you take them once, twice, or 3 times a day? - Could you share your labs and the ranges with us? I expect you have TSH and FreeT4, possibly FreeT3 numbers. - Are you on beta-blockers? Which one and what dose? - Where are you from? Someone here may be able to refer you to a good endo if it turns out that this one isn't. You will feel better. Take care, Fay ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Surf the web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! Guest guest
hi, fay, thanks for asking. I take methimazole 3 times a day, once every 8 hours. It is 20 mg everytime. 10 days ago Blood test result: TSH is 0.01 mU/L. Free T4 is 108 pmol/L My Dr. gave me Novo-Pranol to take in case my heart rate is really high. But, I did not take it once since I did not think I needed it. I live in Toronto, Canada. Anyone from this city? thanks again > > > On Mon, 30 Jun 2003 00:10:01 -0000 " alexying2000 " > <alexying2000@y...> writes: > > hi, all, > > > > I am a 27 years old guy. Guest guest
Hi , I've done it almost all naturally/alt med/energy work - all except the beta blockers which I replaced with hawethorne berry after I was on them for too long. You can read my journal here: http://www.webmosaics.com/thyroid/ I would suggest you look into NMT only because that is what has given me the quickest most obvious successes and because I wish I had discovered it first: http://www.neuromodulationtechnique.com/ Hope that helps, Pam B. My doctor told me that I would > feel better in two months, but it is three months now and I donot see > any improvement. > Hi , I have tried alternative medicine. I was on meth for about a year and I was still feeling some hyper symptoms (sweating, joint pain). I went to a chinese herbalist. The trick is to find a good one, one that understands and preferrably have treated hyperthyroidism. I think the belief is that hyperthyroidism is a yang problem (hot). Therefore the shaking, sweating, and rapid pulse. The treatment therefore was to cool the body. I was given a LOT of pills and a couple of teas. I think I was taking about 30 pills a day for about a month. It worked, but at some point I started having hypo symptoms...cold, tired, stomach pains. So, if you are going to try it, you really have to watch your symptoms carefully because the symptoms are better indicators as to where you are. If you go to a real traditional herbalist and they use the roots and everything else in the original form, the brews are pretty nasty to drink. The results for me were great since I'm feeling much better now. My hypo symptoms have subsided due to the fact that I followed advice from the board to split the meth and take it 3 times a day in even doses. Check out this web site for more information and additional resource links. http://www.aaom.org/ Good luck. C.
