Hopefully you used a latex, not an oil based paint... those are much worse. >any other way to rid the fumes before I pick him up Set up one or more fans. Starting to worry now. f > , too late now but this is for anyone in the future - if you hang a wet sheet over the doorway of the room being painted and put a fan by the open window blowing out this is suppose to stop most of the fumes from traveling through the house or apt. Also, always use a water base paint for less fumes. I could use some help in my hallway - are you any good ??!!!! Guest guest Posted May 20, 2001 Report Share Posted May 20, 2001 Also, FWIW, for future projects, , and probably some of the other manufacturers produce paints with no or low volatile organic compounds (VOCS) that don't give off the fumes. 's is called " Pristine " --you can have it tinted to any of the usual colors. We have used this for painting projects in our house.
