Guest guest
Hello everyone I told you all not long ago that the endo doc put Brady on Periactin Well it has worked. Brady eats all of the time there is not an hour that goes by during the day that Brady doesn't have something to eat. The med hasn't made excesively tired or cranky. I am so happy and hope this med works forever. When Brady wakes up in the morning he has a pancake and sausage. He usually eats about half of what I give him and during the day he eats what ever we eat and i also put snacks out for him all day. We are so happy that this med worked. mom to Brady 15lbs 8oz 27 inches periactin zantac reglan fundoplication g-tube 21 months old RSS and Kiersten 16lbs 25inches and 6 months
Guest guest
Way to go Brady!! Big High-5!! I'm so glad that he doesn't have the " crankies " that we went through with the periactin, we took Olivia off after only 6 weeks and we only got to the full supper dose and .5 ml of the breakfast dose. We meet with her Ped. tomorrow morning to go over everything from the convenion and then we'll see if we can put her back on it. He's not a fan at all of periactin so we'll just have to wait and see what he has to say. Olivia is so under weight that I may go against his orders and do another trial of it... I don't want her brain compromised from lack of calories and I can see that so many of you are having success with it! Guest guest
, I am soooo happy to hear that Brady is doing so well. That is great that he is really eating! That Pericatin must be some kind of miracle for these kids. I only wish I could get on it, but Dr. H says it willmake his reflux worse. So, we may have the fundo done on him. Can I ask you......how did Brady do with it and when did he have it done? How was his recovery? Has he had any problems with it? Is his reflux completely better? I am so worried about this, but it looks like this may be our best option. I would appreciate it if you could help me out! ) Jodi R. > Hello everyone > > I told you all not long ago that the endo doc put Brady on Periactin > Well it has worked. Guest guest
Hi Jodi Brady did okay recovering from the fundo and g-tube surgery. He did have some complications after the surgery. But remember Brady was only a month old. Brady had a hard time comming off the vent and the docs gave him steriods to help him breath. Five days after the surgery Brady's small bowel perferated and he had another surgery for that but I'm sure the bowel perf wasn't from the fundo. Brady sometimes has alot of gagging but mostly when he is having promlems with allergys or alot of post nasal drip. And to answer your question about the reflux, No it is not completely better. We just had three different tests done about 3 months ago and the reflux is still there. The reflux isn't as bad as it was when he was first born but it is still there. If Brady wouldn't have had the fundo done he probably wouldn't be here today because he couldn't keep anything in his stomache. How old is now? If he is old enough for periactin then he should do good with the fundo. These kids they just get stronger and stronger. Maybe you should ask other parents how the feel about the fundo. I'm sure everyone would be happy to give you insight.
