Guest guest
Jen, You are awesome! I am very interested in the possible pyeloroplasy recommendation. When I asked Harbison/spigland at convention, they said they would not recommend surgery on a child who is symptomatic, but gaining. But, my thought is if a surgery can solve the problem, then why not? But, then again, they also said that even after the triple procedure, kids still show delayed gut motitility. aaaaaaagh. I bet is having the lactose breath hydrogen test since they are worried about a milk allergy. Matt's GI said that the gold standard for H.Pylori is a biopsy, so I bet that will be one of the things they do during the scope itself. Thanks for all your info! When do you start all of this? Guest guest
Beth - blood tests in a week after being off the periactin, then Nov8-9th are the hospital tests... Harbison/Spigland told me the same thing, no pyloroplasty for someone like who is still slowly gaining. But Dr. Fred brought up the other side of the coin - - if the delayed gastric emptying is causing GI damage due to bacterial overgrowth, a pyloroplasty may be better. Then flip the coin over again, with Spigland saying that even with a pyloroplasty, some of these kids' emptying times are still delayed. What the heck do we do???? Keep gathering data.... jennifer > > > Jen, > > > > > > I am really curious about this breath hydrogen test. It sounds > > very > > > similar to the testing for H.
