Guest guest
Thank you so much for your mail . I looked at your pics, its heartbreaking you had to go through RAI so badly informed. My husbands eyes are very similar to yours and he hasn't had RAI. We are told very little in the UK, I don't think the doctors here know too much about Graves. Everything we've learnt is from the internet which is a sad fact. He isn't newly diagnosed, this is an ongoing problem now for 8 years, this is a recent re-lapse. The medication he is on makes his eyes photosensitive, the doctors dispute this but we know it happens. I think he is best on medication but he is very poor at looking after himself. He thinks I nag (which I do) but I try my best to support him and its very difficult. He just suffers rather than take pain killers to ease the pain. He won't have eye drops because he dosen't like them..I force him now!..which is nagging..I've had to educate myself about this disease in order to keep him healthy..I'm now on anti-depressants because it gets so difficult. I joined this group to try and gain more information and try and get some support in order for me to continue to suppot him. No-body we know understands Graves and for this reason I have no immediate help. Perhaps we should move to the US, there seems more support there!!
