Guest guest
The average height for an RSS boy untreated is as follows from The unprecedented Wollman et al study: Adult height untreated Boys 151.2+/-7.8; Girls 139.7+/- 7.4 Height on GH is variable. This is because the early GH studies used lower dosages of GH and often only 2-3 times a week. Current knowledge now realizes that due to GH resistance of sometime, RSS/SGA kids need GH 7 days a week and at a higher dose. That being said, I would recommend that you read through the comprehensive listing of data I put in the convention handouts on GH -- all of the findings of every medical article was in that. Basically, in the ideal world, if your child starts GH around age 4- 5 yrs old, doesn't go into puberty early, sees the endo regularly and has the dosages adjusted properly, then the child should get within several inches of their " target " height (what they should have been had they not had RSS). Some kids are reaching their target heights.
