Hi Sharon, I saw that has cream of tartar in a frosting

recipe so I'm sure its a safe product to use (I buy McCormick spices),

but I never bought cream of tartar or used it. I called my dad and asked

him about it (he is a retired science teacher) and here is what he told

me - Cream of tarter is obtained from salts (chemicals) which are found

on the bottom and sides of wine casks. These salts are already 90% cream

of tarter. They are ground and purified and contain hydrogen, potassium,

carbon and oxygen. Funny, I never gave thought where as spices came

from, only thought of them as coming out a jar!!!!!!!! We all learn

something.

Hi Sharon,

Cream of Tartar is tartaric acid. This is the compound that Wm. Shaw

Ph. D. found in high levels in the urine of two autistic twin

brothers. See pages 46-50 of Shaw's book BIOLOGICAL TREATMENTS FOR

AUTISM AND PDD.
